Logan City Police Department Animal Shelter Services

Logan City has signed a contract with Brigham City Police Department to provide animal shelter
services while it develops a long-term solution for police-provided animal care. We are
committed to providing quality and humane care to animals picked up by our animal control
officers as we work to reunite animals with their owners. We appreciate Brigham City’s help
with this issue.
Since the Cache Humane Society ceased services to the city last week, our officers have
impounded three dogs, all of which have been reunited with their owners within hours.
Impounded animals will be held temporarily in kennels at the Logan police department (which
are used periodically for the police’s own K9 dogs) and transferred to the Brigham City shelter
as needed.
Logan appreciates and supports the mission of the Cache Humane Society (CHS), and wishes
them the best as they continue to provide services to citizens and animals in the valley. We will
do the same with animals in our charge. We have worked well with CHS in the past, but are
unable to work with the current executive director.
