Admission's Office Preview Day Event Brings in 950 People

Utah State University’s Admission’s office held Preview Day, a daylong event offered three consecutive days for high school seniors and their parents to visit campus and get an inside look into the Aggie life. This was the event’s first year and a total of 950 high school seniors and parents attended with the goal of giving them an overview of USU and encourage them to apply.

“This was one of our most comprehensive events when it comes to getting a clear idea of what it is like to be an Aggie and the type of high-quality education you can expect,” said Craig Whyte, associate director of enrollment and recruitment. “The response was extremely positive, and we are currently making plans to expand the event next year by adding more days.”

High school seniors and parents attended from Utah, Idaho, Arizona, California, Colorado, Illinois, Nevada, Texas, Washington, Montana and Virginia. The day started off with a quick introduction and welcome, followed by USU student presentations from each college about their personal hands-on learning and research opportunities available at USU.

There was a college fair to help students explore options in majors and programs, as well as a series of breakout sessions throughout the day covering scholarships, admissions, student life and housing and more. Lunch was provided, along with free Aggie Ice Cream, and attendees were encouraged to attend a campus tour and housing tour while on campus.
