2018 NATIONAL UNIVERSITY CHAMPIONSHIPS LIFT OFF IN UTAH THIS WEEKEND

April 17, 2018 – National Champions will be crowned this weekend as USA Weightlifting’s Nike National University & Under 25 Championships powered by Rogue Fitness lands at Weber State University in Ogden, Utah April 19-22.

The Wildcat Arena on the campus of Weber State University will serve as the competition venue with lifting happening all day Friday, Saturday and Sunday. This is the top-tier National event for both University Athletes and athletes ages 25 and under.

USA Weightlifting last visited Utah in 2015 when Weber State played host to the nation’s premier weightlifting competition for university athletes.

"We are pleased to once again return to Utah for another Championship," said Phil Andrews, USA Weightlifting CEO. "The support we have seen over the past several years from Weber State University and the wider Utah community is a large reason why we are now returning to the state for our fourth event. We hope the hundreds of athletes, coaches and technical officials who come to Ogden take advantage of the great hospitality Utah has to offer."

WSU is partnering with Visit Ogden and the Utah Sports Commission to provide regular transportation between downtown Ogden and the WSU campus. Athletes will stay in the Courtyard by Marriot Ogden and Ben Lomond Suites.

Tickets to the event are on sale now at www.WeightliftingTickets.com and at the door. Tickets are priced at $15 per day or $30 for a weekend pass.
