What is so special about water habitats? Join us for an in-depth look at the Ogden Nature Center ponds and surrounding wetlands. Play a wetland game and then with the help of one of our naturalists, venture out on the Ogden Nature Center’s trails to look for signs of wildlife in and around our ponds. Become an entomologist for a day as we learn all about insects. We will be using field guides, nets and bug boxes to catch and identify as many insects as we can. This program will highlight some scout requirements. Please meet in the Visitor Center.
FREE R.A.M.P. SUMMER SATURDAYS
The Ogden Nature Center is offering free admission and activities on Saturdays during the summer. Activities led by a teacher naturalist will be held at 10 am and at 2 pm every Saturday. Activities will include guided nature walks, live animal presentations, games, creative nature crafts and more. Just show up and have fun! The Ogden Nature Center opens at 9 am and closes at 4 pm on Saturdays. Please check in at the Visitor Center front desk.
Special thanks to Weber County R.A.M.P. for funding Free Summer Saturdays at the Ogden Nature Center for our entire community! The last day of Free Summer Saturdays is August 18.
August 4 – Bountiful Butterflies and Caterpillars – Join us and discover the many butterflies that call the Ogden Nature Center home. Kids will enjoy a catch-and-release activity and then make a fun butterfly craft to take home.
August 11 – Leaf Creatures – Learn about the various types of leaves and how to identify them in nature. And just for a good laugh, use collected leaves to create some silly leaf creatures.
August 18 – Nature Scavenger Hunt – Explore the Ogden Nature Center with your family while looking for various nature finds in an engaging scavenger hunt. Various scavenger hunts are available for younger and older age groups. This is the last free Saturday.

Summer Scout Adventure Camp for Ages 9-11

Cub scouts, Girl Scouts, and NON-Scouts – come join us for a week of fun and learning at the Nature Center, where we will draw inspiration from badge requirements of both Webelos and Junior Girl Scouts. Activities include first aid, archery, geocaching, and live animal demonstrations.
Water Wizards – Ages 8-10
August 14th, 8:30am-3:30pm

Flowing, floating, freezing and falling, water seeps into and out of our daily lives in so many ways. Plan to get wet as we dive into the wonderful world of water. Discover who lives beneath the ponds and what makes a wetland so special in this fun filled water exploration day.
Digging History – Ages 7-9

What did Utah once look like? Spend a day in the life of an archaeologist as you
learn how scientists unearth facts and treasures about the lives of those who
existed hundreds, thousands or even millions of years ago.
Girl’s Night Out for Girl Scouts for Ages 7-14
August 17th-18th, 6pm campout to 8:30 am
$50 (includes dinner, breakfast and badge) $20 per attending adult Girl Scouts, come join us for a multi-age, girls-only camp out at the Ogden Nature Center! Older girls will help mentor younger girls as we cook outside, learn knot tying, hike at dusk, play games in the dark, and watch the night sky. While you’re here, we’ll complete badges for Brownie Outdoor Adventurer, Junior Camper, and Cadette Night Owl.
