Vizient 2018 Fall Connections Summit and Innovative Technology Exchange Set for October

IRVING, Texas–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Vizient,
Inc. today announces it will host the 2018
Vizient Connections Summit, focused on clinically effective and
operationally efficient strategies to improve patient outcomes and
transform health care operations, Oct. 2-4 in Las Vegas. The annual fall
conference will offer members, industry experts and suppliers a blended
networking and educational programming agenda with strategies that will
help clinicians improve patient care through clinical quality and
patient safety strategies.
The event is designed for CEOs, COOs, CFOs and health care leaders in
clinical, pharmacy, quality, safety and risk, as well as supply chain
areas focused on improving clinical outcomes. The event agenda
includes educational and interactive sessions on topics such as:
- Care delivery improvement across the care continuum
- Strategies for operational excellence
- Network solutions
- Strategic competencies
- Trends and innovations
As part of the Summit, Vizient also will host its annual Innovative
Technology Exchange on Thursday, Oct. 4, from 12:30-2:45 p.m. The
Exchange is a showcase of the latest in innovative health care
technology designed to improve patient outcomes as well as improve
patient or caregiver safety. Attendees have “hands-on” access to
approximately 100 new and innovative products from 83 suppliers. New
this year, the 22 products with an environmentally preferred sourcing
designation (EPS) will have special signage at the event. Additionally,
attendees will be able to interact with several suppliers showcasing
products to assist hospitals in meeting the new regulations related to
in-house pharmacy compounding. In all areas of the Exchange, attendees
will be able to ask questions and offer feedback on products directly to
suppliers.

In addition to educational sessions led by industry experts, conference
attendees will hear from Dr.
Arlene Blum, Ph.D., founder and executive director of the Green
Science Policy Institute. Her research and policy work with the
institute has contributed to limiting the use of flame retardant, highly
fluorinated and other harmful chemicals in healthcare products,
children’s sleepwear, furniture, plastics, electronics and other
products world-wide. Dr. Blum will be the featured speaker on Wednesday,
Oct. 3, at 2 p.m.
The event’s closing keynote speaker is Retired
Lieutenant General Dave Halverson. LTG Halverson retired from the
United States Army after 37 years of service in various leadership
positions including command at every level from battery to post command
to the Commanding General of the U.S. Army Installation Management
Command. During his last active duty assignment he transformed the
business approach for the global installation management process for the
army’s 154 installations. LTG Halverson will share leadership strategies
that he used throughout his remarkable career.
