Comcast Business Chosen to Deliver High-capacity Fiber Optic Network
Services to State Agencies, Counties, Cities and Schools
DENVER–(BUSINESS WIRE)–The State of Colorado Governor’s Office of Information Technology (OIT)
recently selected Comcast
Business as one of the providers to deliver high-capacity fiber
optic services to state agencies in support of their ever-growing
business requirements serving the constituents of the State.
“OIT is always exploring opportunities to diversify our service
offerings for agency customers to ensure that we meet their business
needs,” said Suma Nallapati, Secretary of Technology and State Chief
Information Officer. “Adding to our portfolio of data and
telecommunications services provides us with more options for secure,
fast, reliable and affordable solutions.”
To meet its complex and critical telecommunications and network business
needs, the State of Colorado requires fast, reliable and scalable
network services to support statewide agencies. The Governor’s Office of
Information Technology facilitates services delivery through oversight,
statewide policy, and a suite of statewide, competitively bid
telecommunications contracts. OIT’s driving goal is to streamline the
negotiations between service operators and state and local agencies,
while delivering high-availability technology solutions tailored to meet
agencies’ unique needs. Vendor competitiveness also drives maximum cost
efficiencies for the State.
“We are extremely proud of the world class broadband network that we’ve
built throughout the State of Colorado,” said Rich Jennings, Senior Vice
President, Comcast Mountain West Region. “Our network has been purposely
built to power and support government, businesses and residential
initiatives that empower the community, a responsibility we take very
seriously. We look forward to a great partnership with the State in
continuing strong economic development and growth throughout Colorado.”
