Overwhelming Community Support Leads to Rezoning of Tremont Nail Factory, Future Home of Organa Brands Massachusetts
October 24, 2018
DENVER–(BUSINESS WIRE)–#Bakked–This week, Organa
Brands – the leading cannabis distributor in America – witnessed a
show of overwhelming community support for the rezoning of the Tremont
Nail Factory in Wareham, MA. Once finalized, the company will enter into
a five-year renewable lease for the site in conjunction with the Wareham
Redevelopment Authority, creating a wholly-owned manufacturing and
distribution facility, which will replace its previous licensee
operation in the state. The project intends to breathe new life into the
property while bringing job opportunities and tax revenue into the Town
of Wareham. Rent, taxes, and historical society contributions for the
site will flow directly through the Town of Wareham, ensuring an
immediate and positive economic impact.
“From the moment we stepped foot in Wareham, we knew it was a match,”
said Chris Driessen, President of Organa Brands U.S. “The historic
Tremont Nail Factory was a key factor in the prosperity of Wareham in
the past, and we look to bring that same spirit of ingenuity and
know-how to create a thriving business epicenter in this wonderful city.
Organa Brands is thrilled to have the Town of Wareham as our landlord
and community partner.”
Organa Brands has a proven track record in revitalizing urban areas and
creating significant economic impact in the towns and cities with which
it works. From Denver, Colorado to Los Angeles, California, to any of
the other ten markets in which it operates, the company works diligently
to align its goals to serve the local community. With 81% of the Wareham
voters in attendance approving the rezoning, Organa Brands is humbled by
the support residents have shown, and look forward to leading the
community to a sustainable and prosperous future.
“We are pleased to have Organa Brands as our newest corporate citizen –
a leader in an evolving and expanding industry providing the town with
new jobs, revenue, and growth – contributing financially to the
preservation of the town’s historic industrial era,” said Kenneth
Buckland, Director of Planning and Community Development for the Town of
Wareham.
