Armistice Day Centennial Talk: Brynja Kohler

In commemoration of the 100th anniversary of Armistice Day and the end of World War I, Utah State University colleges, departments and units are offering an array of events and activities during the first two weeks of November.

Brynja Kohler, associate professor in USU’s Department of Mathematics and Statistics, presents the talk, "A Glimpse into the History of Biological Warfare and the Mathematics Used to Stop Diseases," on Thursday, Nov. 1, from 1:30-3 pm in Huntsman Hall on the USU Logan campus.

Admission is free and all are welcome.

Dr. Kohler’s talk is one of three lectures presented by the Department of Mathematics and Statistics. Others are:

Friday, Nov. 2: Jim Cangelosi, Carnegie Professor, presents "Winning the Peace with a Secretive, Invaluable Boost from the Prostitution of Prime Numbers," from 1-3 pm in Huntsman Hall, Room 170.

Friday, Nov. 2: Dave Brown, associate department head and professor, presents "Game Theory and the Arms Race: Modeling a Game No One Wins" from 4-5 pm in Huntsman Hall, Room 170.
