BioScience Association
(CBSA) announces the promotion of Jennifer
Jones Paton to president and chief executive officer. Jones Paton joined
the association in 2016 as vice president, responsible for partnerships,
policy and advocacy, and communications.

Jones Paton brings a rich background in policy and economic development
to her new role along with a reputation for partnership and achieving
results. As vice president of CBSA, she worked collaboratively across
industries, economic development groups, policymakers, and non-profit
organizations to develop programs that support the health and growth of
Colorado’s bioscience sector. She is a Colorado native with deep roots
in the business and policy communities.

Scott Larson, Chairman of the CBSA Board of Directors, says:

“After a thorough search, we selected Jennifer for this critical
executive position because she brings proven leadership, strong
relationships with our stakeholders and partners, and a track record of
success in public policy and advocacy for the life science sector. Her
public policy background is crucial for CBSA with new leadership at the
federal and state level. We know Jennifer will build on our successes
and bring new ideas to ignite our sector’s future growth.”

Ginny Orndorff, Vice Chair of the CBSA Board of Directors, says:

“We are thrilled to promote Jennifer to president and CEO of Colorado
BioScience Association. In the two years since she joined the
association as vice president, she’s made a significant impact for CBSA,
our members and our partners. She’s worked closely with the state on the
Advanced Industries Accelerator Grant program and led efforts to pass
legislation favorable to bioscience. We are confident in her continued
leadership as we advance our sector into a new era.”

Jennifer Jones Paton, Colorado BioScience Association President and
CEO, says:

“It’s an honor to lead the Colorado BioScience Association. I look
forward to the continued partnership with our members, academic and
research institutions, and our service providers to advance the CBSA
mission. I am energized by our sector’s collaborative spirit and
commitment to advancing human health and the broader bioscience sector.
We are at a defining moment in which we can accelerate our industry with
new sources of capital and a favorable environment for growth. Together,
with the board, CBSA team, and other advanced industry leaders, we can
look forward to great progress and continued success.”

Before joining CBSA in 2016, Jones Paton directed Public Affairs for the
Denver Metro Chamber of Commerce. She started with the Chamber in 2012
and quickly moved into leadership roles, becoming Public Affairs
Director in 2014. Jones Paton started her career in the international
department of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce in Washington, D.C., where
she managed programs focused on Europe and Eurasia and planned events
with U.S. and international heads of state. She holds two Bachelor of
Arts degrees in International Relations and Spanish from Southern
Methodist University.

Jones Paton assumes the CBSA leadership role after President and CEO,
