UPR-Hosted Public Town Hall Meeting to Explore Gender Issues Post #Metoo

MeToo is now part of everyday speech. Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh has been on the bench for five months after a divisive hearing process. And, on the happier side, five of Utah’s eight public universities and colleges are led by women presidents.
The question now is: “Where are we post-Kavanaugh and post-election?”
That issue will be explored at a public town hall panel discussion hosted by Utah State University’s Utah Public Radio. The event is at 6 p.m. Friday, Jan. 25, at the Lundstrom Student Center, 1295 E. 1000 North, Logan. It’s open and the public is invited.
“Many of us are still processing the Kavanaugh hearings and the 2018 elections, absorbing the news, and wondering where the #MeToo movement is and where it’s going,” a press release said.
The event, titled “#MeToo Continues – Where Are We Post-Kavanaugh/Post Election?” is a community-focused addition to the original series created by UPR reporters and producers titled “Utah Women 20/20.” Episodes explore the unique challenges and opportunities faced by Utah women.
“This is a unique moment for Utah,” said Tom Williams, program director for “Access Utah,” the station’s daily interview show.
Parking for the event is available at the church across the street. Pizza will be served.
