USU's IOGP Hosts Former Sen. Jeff Flake for Policy Forum Monday, Feb. 4

Utah State University’s Institute of Government and Politics invites students, faculty and the university community to hear a presentation by former Arizona Sen. Jeff Flake. Flake will speak on the topic “Polarizing Partisanship,” Monday, Feb. 4, at 4:30 p.m., in the Eccles Conference Center on the Logan campus. A question and answer session will follow the presentation.
Flake served as a senator from 2013 to 2019. A republican, Flake previously served in the United States House of Representatives from 2001 to 2013. He is one of the bipartisan “Gang of Eight” U.S. senators to push an immigration reform bill through the Senate in 2013. Flake announced that he would not seek re-election in 2018.
USU’s IOGP was founded in 2011, following the vision of former USU President Stan Albrecht and former Provost Raymond T. Coward to help every student understand the important role government plays in society. The non-partisan IOGP engages Utah State students, faculty, political and community leaders and citizens in the discussion of policy development through its internship program, visiting speakers, seminars and policy forums.
