Title: Preparing to Provide Instructional Support in Higher Education

What is it like working at a college to provide instructional support for faculty members? You might become an instructional designer, an instructional technologist, a faculty development specialist, a learning experience designer, or a course developer. What are the different responsibilities among them? How do you prepare for such roles? Ye has been working in different institutions of higher education as an instructional technologist and instructional designer for 10 years and would like to share her experiences and insights.

A blurb about Ye: Ye Liu graduated from the ITLS master program. She is a Senior Instructional Designer in the Office of Distance Education at Boston University. She and her colleagues partner with faculty members to design and develop online courses for multiple online programs. Ye has also worked as an instructional technologist at another institution to provide instructional support for faculty development, technology integration, and course design/development.
