April 12, 2019
Brad Osborn is a assistant professor of music theory at the University of Kansas. He is the author of “Everything in its Right Place: Analyzing Radiohead.” Adapting a psychology-based approach known as ecological perception, the book demonstrates how Radiohead’s music means what it does to listeners with varying degrees of prior experiences in common practice tonal music and post-millennial rock music is published in top theoretical journals and he has spoken at conferences internationally. He writes and records under the moniker D’Archipelago, a “band” composed entirely of him overdubbing all of the vocal and instrumental tracks.
