Museum + Music – Transnational Landscapes: Classical Indian Music of the Hindustani Traditions:
5:15 p.m. – 6:15 p.m. in the Caine Gallery
Welcoming master sitarist Pt. Deobrat Mishra and tabla virtuoso Prashant Mishra, this concert will explore the traditions of Hindustani music as they live in our modern world. At the same time contemporary visual works from LatinX artists and the early twentieth century artist Stanton MacDonald-Wright (whose work draws on Japanese artistic traditions) will invite audiences to consider a cultural landscape created irrespective of national borders, one which is truly transnational.
