Abigail Shupe (assistant professor of music theory) â€“ Dr. Abigail Shupe is assistant professor of music theory in the School of Music, Theatre, and Dance at Colorado State University. Her research interests include the French Enlightenment, Jean-Philippe Rameau, and early theories of harmony, as well as issues of death and mortality in the music of George Crumb. She is an active presenter at conferences across the U.S. and Canada. Shupeâ€™s work appears in Theoria, the journal of historical music theory, and in the edited volume, Singing Death (2017). Shupe is expanding her research into a monograph on death and the American landscape in Crumbâ€™s music.
