Grand Opening of 'Heart Beats: Beat Poet and Little Magazine Exhibition'

Grand Opening of ‘Heart Beats: Beat Poet and Little Magazine Exhibition,’ which was created by English students in conjunction with Merrill-Cazier Library’s Special Collections and Archives and the Nora Eccles Harrison Museum of Art.
The exhibit focuses on the Beat poets of the 1950s and 1960s who were reacting to what they saw as a materialistic culture and blind conformity to a growing capitalist world.
At 7 p.m., visiting Beat artist and poet Gerd Stern will speak, reflecting on his own experience as a Beat artist.
