USU Students Asked to Shop for Fall 2020 Semester Course Materials and Books Early

Utah State University’s Campus Store is encouraging students to pre-order their books and course materials for fall 2020 semester and avoid waiting in long lines on campus this year.

Because of safety precautions in place to limit the spread of COVID-19, the Campus Store in the Taggart Student Center will allow limited numbers of customers inside the store at any one time. Students can pre-order their textbooks and pick them up within 48 hours or have them shipped to their residence.

During a typical rush before the pandemic, the textbook side of the Campus Store in Logan averaged between 250 and 300 people inside at one time leading up to, and during, the first week of school. In order to allow for social distancing, approximately 100 employees and customers will be allowed on that side of the store, which could result in hundreds of students waiting in line – 6 feet apart – outside the store.

“We want to avoid this scenario and ask that you shop now for your class materials and books,” said Campus Store Director Jason Brown. “Students can help their fellow Aggies minimize the spread of coronavirus by ordering online or having their materials shipped.”

Students can use their USU login to generate a personalized booklist on the Campus Store website. From there, they can choose to purchase or rent both print books and eBooks and select pickup or another shipping method. Once ordered, students will receive a notification letting them know their order has been shipped or is ready to be picked up within the store.

When visiting the store, students should bring their student ID and order number, and it is recommended they print their booklist ahead of visiting.

The Campus Store is open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday, 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, and with extended hours the first week of classes. Those with questions should contact the store at 800-662-3950 or through email at campusstore@usu.edu. Students may also use the chat function on the website.
