Logan Businesses Celebrate Aggies Through Annual Paint the Town Blue Celebration

Now in its eighth year, the annual Paint the Town Blue celebration is underway, with businesses all around town decorating their stores in Aggie Blue and Fighting White.

Heidi Adams, director of trademark licensing at Utah State, coordinates the event with her staff every year, promoting things and recruiting new businesses to get involved.

“We were working on community outreach in 2013 and this became a way that we could work with local businesses to highlight them as well as their love for Utah State,” Adams said. “The goal is to create community engagement and show our students support, not only from the institution but also the community.”

Several Logan businesses have participated in Paint the Town Blue every year, including Lee’s Marketplace.

“We love USU and the students that shop our store. We want to show our pride in the school to help bolster the team, students, and the community,” said Tim Rigby, director of marketing Lee’s. “Lee’s mission is to be involved in the communities we serve. We feel the community supports us and we need to return the favor.

Each year, participating businesses are featured on the USU social media pages, and have the opportunity to win one of seven prize packs. This year, Yogurtland and S.E. Needham Jewelers have been the two winners announced so far.

By being involved in Paint the Town Blue, businesses show their support of the university and the community in which they make their living.

“USU is such an important part of this community and the comradery that comes with being fans of such a great school makes everyone stronger and feels like we have something to look forward to, especially during this uncertain time,” Rigby said. “The excitement we show in our community with the blue and white colors bring with it a feeling of pride and connection to something bigger than us. It brings us together even though we are 6 feet apart.”
