When a consumer tablet just won’t cut it

Logan, UT – Juniper Systems is excited to announce the launch of its latest Cedar rugged tablet — the Cedar CT8X2. This next-generation tablet offers increased processing power, RAM, and storage, all running on the Android 10 operating system. The CT8X2 offers all this while retaining the same powerful GNSS functionality of the previous generation at the same affordable price point.

“The CT8X2 is our best Cedar tablet to date,” said Cody Draper, Cedar Product Manager. “It exceeds expectations in terms of price, performance, and versatility. It is a perfect device for those looking for a mobile data collection device that offers a much greater degree of ruggedness than a consumer product.”

Powered by an octa-core Snapdragon CPU from Qualcomm®, the CT8X2 provides a snappy user experience while running demanding applications. The device’s increase in RAM allows for larger files and data-intensive tasks to be completed with ease. A bump in onboard storage prevents users from needing to offload data frequently and provides plenty of space for applications. With GNSS accuracy of around one meter in open skies and five meters in tree canopy, the CT8X2 offers very capable GNSS positioning that far exceeds the accuracy of typical consumer devices.

“The performance increase of the CT8X2 gives users a very capable device in the field,” Draper said. “We were able to provide these advancements in performance and GNSS accuracy while maintaining our affordable price point.”

The CT8X2 offers users powerful functionality, a high-resolution screen, and powerful GNSS capabilities all in a sleek yet rugged design. Users can work hard and worry less with the CT8X2. The CT8X2 is now available for purchase.

Cache County is experiencing a sharp increase in the spread of COVID-19. Mayor Holly Daines asks residents
to, “Be smart, be responsible, and be kind! Please do not be complacent. I encourage residents to go back to
basics and wear a mask when visiting a business, stay six feet away from others not in your household and
wash your hands or use hand sanitizer often.”
Because of this outbreak, masks are encouraged in all Logan City offices beginning Monday June 8, 2020. If
individuals prefer to not wear a mask, we invite them to work with us online or over the phone. We encourage
other businesses to do the same.
The library will close Monday June 8, 2020 until further notice. Options for checking out books will be available.
For more information, call them at 435-716-9123 or visit the website at http://library.loganutah.org.
The Logan Community Recreation Center will close beginning June 9, 2020 until further notice, and staff will
be evaluating other recreation programs. The City and School District are working together to determine
potential future availability for school athletic teams.
To help with those impacted by the virus, Logan City will use federal COVID-19 mitigation funds to provide
additional support to the Cache Community Food Pantry, and will provide City staff members to assist the Bear
River Health Department to deliver food and supplies to families quarantined due to COVID-19.
General Logan City questions can be answered at 435-716-9000 and on our website at www.loganutah.org.
As a reminder to residents, if you feel sick, you should be tested for COVID-19. Intermountain Healthcare’s
online symptom tracker is available for anyone. This site has valuable health care information related to COVID
and locations for testing in the community. For additional questions the COVID hotline is also available at
844-442-5224. Other healthcare organizations may have similar symptom trackers.
The fastest way to receive your results from Intermountain Healthcare is to check the My Health+ app or visit

Because of the COVID-19 pandemic, the City of Logan regretfully announces the cancellation of the City of Logan Pioneer Day Parade and Celebration scheduled for Friday, July 24, 2020 at Willow Park.

The cancellation comes as a result of disruption to the planning for the Pioneer Day Celebration, current recommendations regarding social distancing at mass gatherings and public events, and financial impact to event sponsors. See list of current guidelines below.

· Guidelines for mass gathering include:

· Must have ability to track attendance

· No temporary mass gatherings as defined in Rule R392-400

· Event size can exceed 50 individuals if organizational oversight can be provided that ensures guidelines are followed

· A 6-foot distance must be maintained between household groups at all times including while seated

· For reserved-seating facilities, facility capacity is dependent on ability to block reserved seats (demonstrated on digital seat map) to ensure safe radius

· Set an established window time for high-risk groups to come in without pressure from crowds and/or separate entrances and queues

· Limit the number of people in a confined area to enable adequate distancing at all times

· Maintain signage to remind and help individuals stand at least 6 feet apart when in common areas or while visiting exhibits (e.g. museums, zoos, aquariums, aviaries, botanical gardens)

· Distribution of promotional items, candy, food items, etc. during spectator events must be distributed in a manner that does not promote congregating

· Congregating at any point is not allowed

· Encourage contactless payment; disinfect between transactions at facility stores/gift shops and comply with other retail recommendations

· Participants (e.g., players, performers, actors) in events should have their symptoms checked

· Dedicated staff for sanitizing high-touch areas

Given the uncertainties that impact this event, we cannot move forward with planning, contracts, staffing and budgetary commitments.
