Students in Utah State University’s music therapy program have gathered their muses for a concert and will present “Muses” Saturday, Nov. 3, at the Caine Performance Hall on USU’s Logan campus. Concert time is 7:30 p.m. The concert is free and open to everyone.

“The Muses concert features the music therapy students performing on a wide variety of instruments and in a variety of music styles,” said Letha Winger, clinical instructor of music therapy in the Caine College of the Arts. “In addition, the concert is designed to give audience members an introduction to how music therapists use music in clinical situations to provide healing, relief, rehabilitation and growth in others.”

The concert features multiple students in the music therapy program, ranging from freshmen to seniors.

“Though music therapy is an evidence-based, allied health profession, the concert is titled ‘Muses’ to represent the inspiration we have all felt with music,” Winger said. “Both that which we embrace for ourselves and that which we give to others.”

While “Muses” is free and open to the public, donations to the program are accepted.
