South Logan Is Home To Brazillian Restaurant
For the old-timers, driving into Logan from the south I am sure that the old Freeman’s Kitchen brings back memories and the wish that it was still Freeman’s. Certainly, after seeing so many restaurants try their hand at this location, one might begin to think that the location is jinxed.
However, with the opening of the Elements Restaurant, Springhill Suites, and several other complexes, it was just a matter of time before a new restaurant opened. I watched with anticipation when I began to see signs of construction and remodeling. Then the sign appeared … Gaucho’s Grill. What is a Brazilian grill?
In my mind, I imagined a restaurant similar to what I would find in Salt Lake City or Provo with all of the meat choices, an interesting salad bar and a warm and inviting atmosphere.
The other day after not being able to find anyone to try it out with me (is there a hidden message there?), I stopped by for a quick lunch. There were 10-15 cars in the parking lot, so I didn’t think it would be too bad of wait. Entering the front door, the atmosphere was warm and inviting with a dining room to my right and to the left.
There was a salad bar with some of the exotic choices I was expecting such as quails eggs, palm hearts and then regular choices. There were some hot choices, but I chose to have the meat come to me. Gaucho’s Grill is created with a one price for lunch and one price for dinner. For $13.99, you have an all-you-can-eat salad bar, and all-you-can eat meat that is roasted and carved at your table. It is a unique experience.
The meat choices that I sampled were chicken, sirloin and lasagna. Other grilled choices that I saw were glazed ham and grilled pineapple. One of the unique details with Gaucho’s Grill is that you control how much meat and how often your meat plate is replenished. And when you are finished, you decide when the check comes.
The food was fresh and tasty. I hope that Gaucho’s Grill is around for awhile. It is a restaurant out of the ordinary from other restaurants in the Logan area and was a pleasant experience.
