Mitsubishi Announces Winners of National “Your Game Winning Drive Starts with Mitsubishi” Sweepstakes

CYPRESS, Calif.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Mitsubishi
Motors North America, Inc. (MMNA) today announced the winners of its
recently completed “Your Game Winning Drive Starts with Mitsubishi”
sweepstakes. The national sweepstakes, which began Oct. 15, awarded the
grand prize, a brand new 2019 Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross compact utility
vehicle, to Kristin Smith of Richmond, IN. The second prize winner, Andy
Fidler of Colts Neck, N.J., received an all-expenses paid trip for he
and three guests to the 2018 Mitsubishi Motors Las Vegas Bowl for a
once-in-a-lifetime in-stadium tailgate powered by the Mitsubishi
Outlander plug-in hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV).

The “Your Game Winning Drive Starts with Mitsubishi” sweepstakes was
developed to build excitement and attention for the company’s title
sponsorship of the first game of the college football Bowl season.
Through the run of the sweepstakes, which concluded on November 26, more
than 60,000 entries were received.

Winners of the all-new Eclipse Cross, the Smith family was overwhelmed
with excitement and couldn’t believe the news. Kristin is a mom to five
kids, three girls and two boys, and her husband Dennis Smith is a
veteran who served three tours in Iraq and Afghanistan.

The Eclipse Cross was recently selected as the 2019 RJC Car of the Year
by the Automotive Researchers & Journalists Conference of Japan (RJC) in
November. The Eclipse Cross features a vibrant and defiant design with a
152-horsepower 1.5-liter direct-injection turbo engine, and features
Mitsubishi’s proprietary Super All-Wheel Control system. The Smiths will
take delivery of the vehicle early next year.

Just as thrilled was the Fidler family, self-described “big football
fans.” Andy (father) will bring his three children with him to the game,
where they will experience one of the most unique football vacations
ever. Beyond transportation and accommodations, the family will be
treated to a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, as they enjoy the game as
part of an in-stadium tailgate experience, powered by the Mitsubishi
Outlander PHEV. Big screen televisions, food and refreshments, and the
most comfortable seats in the house await the Fidlers as they sit
field-side and enjoy the game.

One the more unique features on the Outlander PHEV are available AC
power outlets located in the rear seat and cargo area. The outlets draw
directly from the drive battery and provide up to 1,500 watts of
electric power, enough to power nearly any portable household appliance.
The plugs could be useful for outdoor events such as camping (toaster,
spotlight, electric grill, coffee maker) or tailgating (television,
blender, game console, mini-fridge, speakers), which the Fidler family
will be doing on-field during the Mitsubishi Motors Las Vegas Bowl.
