Cradlepoint Positioned within Inaugural Gartner Magic Quadrant for WAN Edge Infrastructure

network edge solutions, today announced it is one of twenty vendors
positioned within Gartner’s inaugural Magic Quadrant for WAN Edge
Infrastructure* report. Gartner recognized Cradlepoint as a Niche
Player. In our view, Cradlepoint’s placement in the Niche Players
quadrant reflects its laser focus on meeting the needs of organizations
that are shifting to cellular connectivity for network reliability and
business agility, and in preparing companies for the impact of
Gigabit-LTE and 5G on product and service delivery.
The market for branch office wide-area network functionality is shifting
from dedicated routing, security and WAN optimization appliances to
feature-rich SD-WAN and vCPE platforms. Gartner states, “WAN edge
infrastructure now incorporates a widening set of network functions,
including secure routers, firewalls, SD-WAN, WAN path control and WAN
optimization, along with traditional routing functionality.” Together,
these functions better enable network connectivity from distributed
enterprise locations that access resources in both private and public
data centers as well as cloud (as a service).
Cradlepoint targets several vertical markets, including retail, quick
serve restaurants, the public sector, hospitality, healthcare,
transportation and financial services. Other assets include
Cradlepoint’s relationships with major network providers and its ability
to provide highly-integrated, cost-optimized platforms.
