unprecedented energy and cost savings
DENVER–(BUSINESS WIRE)–lt;a href=”https://twitter.com/hashtag/HVAC?src=hash” target=”_blank”gt;#HVAClt;/agt;–Motili
a real-estate technology company, today announced that it is working
with Cardinal
Group to complete an energy-efficiency upgrade project at Westmar
Lofts, a modern student housing community located near Georgia Tech
in Atlanta, Georgia. The project consists of a comprehensive retrofit of
the facility’s entire Heating/Ventilation/Air Conditioning system,
servicing close to 400 apartment homes. Cardinal Group is leading the
industry with the installation of one of the most sustainable and
energy-efficient HVAC systems available today.
HVAC is the number one consumer of energy in the commercial building
space, and Westmar is installing a highly energy efficient 16 SEER, 3
SEER higher than required by the Georgia Energy Code. This project will
also qualify for utility rebates from Georgia Power for installation of
the state-of-the-art system.
Cardinal Group also installed new LED lighting throughout the entire
property, and high efficiency water fixtures in the resident apartments,
to unlock additional savings in electric and water.
“We looked to Motili for this project because of their expertise in
large scale, turn-key HVAC projects in occupied spaces,” said Andrew
Ellis, Senior Project Manager at Cardinal Group. “Motili was able to
bring together a turn-key project that exceeded our investment criteria,
and delivered on our commitment to bring a sustainable living
environment to our communities and valued residents.”
Westmar expects the new HVAC installation to pay back on energy savings
in under 5 years. Typically, HVAC retrofit ROI has a 10 year horizon.
“Getting an HVAC redevelopment project to payback under 5 years is
tremendous,” said Matthew Sallee, Vice President of Sales at Motili.
“Our expertise in HVAC in multifamily projects in the multi-family
environment ultimately allowed us to overcome the myriad challenges
presented by a project of this scope and scale.”
