Idaho Technical Career Academy Opens Enrollment for the 2019-2020 School Year
MERIDIAN, Idaho–(BUSINESS WIRE)–lt;a href=”https://twitter.com/hashtag/careerprep?src=hash” target=”_blank”gt;#careerpreplt;/agt;–Idaho
Technical Career Academy (ITCA), an accredited, online public
charter school, is now accepting enrollment applications for the
2019-2020 school year. ITCA is the state’s only career-focused online
school, and offers families statewide a tuition-free alternative to
brick-and-mortar education for grades 9-12.
“Our goal is to prepare students for life beyond high school, whether
that is in higher education or as they enter the workforce,” said ITCA
head of school Monti Pittman. “Our online learning platform offers a
personalized learning experience, and our career-focused curriculum
introduces young people to new and exciting opportunities for success.”
ITCA combines online instruction, rigorous curriculum, and the support
of state-licensed teachers to provide a personalized learning experience
for each student. Through the school’s Destinations
Career Program, students can discover future career options in four
pathways of study: agriculture, food and natural resources; health
professions; information technology; and business.
According to the Idaho Department of Labor’s 2014-2024
Labor Market Projections report, jobs related to science,
technology, engineering and math (STEM) are projected to grow by 23.1
percent by 2024. An additional 16,000 jobs are projected to become
available in the health fields over that time. Students enrolled in
ITCA’s Destinations program can gain early exposure to a variety of STEM
trades, with online courses that introduce them to specialty skills and
experiences.
High school students across the state can enroll in ITCA full time, and
eligible students can take advantage of dual enrollment in the school’s
career readiness education through its part-time
pathway program.
Outside of class, ITCA fosters a sense of community through in-person
gatherings, field trips and service learning opportunities. Graduating
seniors earn a high school diploma, and are celebrated at an annual
in-person commencement ceremony. Students participate in a variety of
clubs and organizations throughout the year, exploring shared interests,
building leadership skills and forming lasting friendships.
ITCA is now accepting enrollments for the 2019-2020 academic year.
Families are encouraged to attend online and in-person information
